LibreOffice VS OnlyOffice VS FreeOffice VS WPS Alright, a LibreOffice user here. I have been using LibreOffice for past 2 years, hated it all the time because of the UI not being modern as compared to MS (not icons but simplistic design).

  2. Is Libreoffice Free

  • LibreOffice is another free and open source office suite that works with all of the Microsoft Office file formats. It is based on OpenOffice, discussed above, and took off with its own fork in 2010. Maintained by The Document Foundation, this app also encourages users to get involved and help improve and add new features.
  • LibreOffice Impress Export as Images allows to export all the Impress slides or Draw pages as images of JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, and TIFF format. OpenCards is a free award-winning flashcard learning software. LibreOffice Draw Barcode enables LibreOffice to add barcodes to documents. GeOOO allows the creations of thematic maps with LibreOffice.

I upgraded my Lenovo laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I had LibreOffice 4.4.4 installed when I did the upgrade. I then tried to install LibreOffice 5.0.0 without success. I then uninstalled LibreOffice 4.4.4.In my Downloads folder there are right click options to Install / Repair / Uninstall the LibreOffice installation file.

However with other software programs with exe extensions I have downloaded, the options available are to Open or Run as Administrator.

It seems to me that msi files need to be setup in the same way as exe files in Windows 10? Not sure of what I need to do here. Thanks

1) I am upgrading, and am looking for an analysis of OpenOffice vs LibreOffice, and would appreciate pointing me to something to read.
2) If a person changes to LibreOffice, do your old OpenOffice files load, & with the same formatting, colors, etc?

Is Libreoffice Free

3) Most important, I saw a while back, but cant find again, some advice regarding saving, renaming, backing up some user files, before upgrading. So that your preferences are installed in the new version. (In addition to backing up all the OpenOffice files I have created of course). I have read the complete announcement above, and don't see any advice in there. Can anyone point me to that info?

Libreoffice Vs Openoffice

Thanks!
